Today marks the 36th anniversary of the shootings at Kent State University and the commemoration included a special guest.

Poster-sized photographs of the four students killed on May 4, 1970 lined the front of the stage during Thursday's commemoration.
The Pulitzer Prize winning photograph of Mary Ann Vecchio screaming over the body of Jeffrey Miller is featured on a display.

White markers with the names of each soldier killed in the current war in Iraq lined a field next to the 2006 May 4 remembrance.
Classes at KSU were cancelled from noon until 2:00 pm to allow students to attend the May 4 Commemoration.
