Pianist Mitsuko Uchida grew up in Austria and lives in London but Japanese classical audiences celebrate her as one of their own. She has drawn raves conducting Mozart from the keyboard in the first four concerts of the Cleveland Orchestra's Asian tour and she’ll play an all-Beethoven program Thursday night at Tokyo's Suntory Hall.
She told WKSU's Vivian Goodman that she treasures her long association with the Cleveland Orchestra. |
