Welser Most says Cleveland's special sound resounds even in Austrian churches
The music director of the Cleveland Orchestra praises the work of its youth

Franz Welser Most made a surprise visit to the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra's concert in Vienna, Austria.

A 13th century Gothic church in the heart of Vienna, Austria, reverberated with the passionate playing last night of the Cleveland Orchestra’s Youth Orchestra. There was Brahms, Elgar, Wagner, Dvorak and a special guest.

The Youth Orchestra's concert was at Vienna's Minoritenkirche, a 13th century church.
Steve and Patty Roberts of Shaker Heights are the proud parents of violist Faith Roberts.
Percussionist Kevin Ritenauer listens somewhat anxiously as his brother Sean tested the drums. The acoustics in the ancient church were somewhat tricky.
The pews were packed and the audience was appreciative.
Allison Elder of the Cleveland Orchestra's Education Department takes care of last minute details, such as adjusting the music stands.
