The finale of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra tour was also the finale for the young musicians who will be moving on now to other adventures and accomplishments. Some will continue music studies and become professional musicians, but not all.

WKSU’s Vivian Goodman has been reporting on the tour from Austria. She spoke with violinists Maria Beltavski and Stephanie Lee just before the concert began.

The final concert of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra’s  first international tour is just the beginning, according to Joan Katz Napoli, director of Education and Community Programs for the Cleveland Orchestra. Longtime supporters of the parent orchestra, Les and Margo Vinney and Karen Jacobs, have established a touring fund to make such trips possible every few years.
